I have over 45 years’ experience in the Aluminium Extrusion industry. Having first worked with Industry Leaders Alcan Extrusions, at the time, the largest Aluminium company in the world. I was extremely lucky being at Alcan at a time when the philosophy was to train the sales staff in all aspects of the extrusion process and business acumen. Management and Character Development courses were the norm. I was trained to within an inch of my life to understand not only all aspects of business, but to understand myself and how I ticked. I now have no secrets from myself!! I later joined European market leaders, Hydro Aluminium Extrusions. Mixed in with stretches at aluminium stockholders, and starting 2 companies from scratch, I ended up feeling I really did have perfect background to start my own company in the extrusion market.
That opportunity came when I met Kim Willies, who was the UK Agent for Aluminios Cortizo. Kim and I struck up not only a great business relationship, but also a great friendship and Kim approached me to set up a stockholding operation in the UK.
With my experience, I identified immediately that the operation at Cortizo was to such a high level, the only way forward for Vision was to be at the same standard. So, the Cortizo ethos of “Quality, Quality, Quality” became the ethos of Vision Profiles.
Following the retirement of Kim from Vision Profiles in 2007, we embarked on an ambitious programme to change the face of the company. We could no longer afford to just offer bar length extrusion from stock, we had to add value. So, Vision Fabrication was born.
We purchased top of the range CNC Fabrication Centres and then developed into kitting and assembly.
Today over 60% of our turnover is with added value.
